Air Quality research in the Environmental Quality division focuses on understanding the sources, transport, transformation, and impacts of air pollutants across natural and built environments. Research in this area examines atmospheric emissions, particulate matter, trace gases, and other pollutants that affect public health, environmental quality, and climate. Faculty investigate processes that influence pollutant behavior in the atmosphere, develop methods for monitoring and analysis, and support strategies for reducing emissions and improving air quality. This work contributes to science-based solutions for environmental protection, regulatory decision-making, and sustainable management of air resources.
