UWRL Faculty Member Ron Sims Highlighted For Covid-19 Research

June 23, 2020 — UWRL faculty member Ron Sims was recently highlighted by the USU Office of Research for his work with fellow USU researcher Keith Roper.

Sims and Roper are part of a coordinated effort with the University of Utah, BYU, and USU to identify COVID-19 traces in wastewater. This study was able to accurately predict the recent Cache Valley outbreak in Hyrum a week before testing confirmed the cases.
