Matthew Givens

Graduate Research Assistant: Mechanical Engineer

Matthew Givens is this week’s AggieAir Employee Spotlight, where we highlight an employee who goes above and beyond in their work and contribution to our team.

Matthew has been with our team since May of 2018. Before AggieAir, Matthew received his bachelors in mechanical engineering and a minor in astronomy from the University of Utah.

Matthew is currently studying to receive his Masters in Aerospace Engineering here at Utah State University. He currently works at AggieAir on his thesis project in which he is studying the possibility of using multiple, spatially distributed inertial measurement units (IMUs) in order to increase navigation performance of a UAV inertial system.

Along with other projects, Matthew is also in charge of managing our BluJay project as well as the mechanical engineering team at USU.

When not working with the AggieAir team, Matthew has a personal drone he likes to fly, and he also enjoys hiking and reading history and science fiction. Matthew also played the snare drum in the marching band at U of U and with the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps.

Matthew is planning to graduate in the summer of 2019 with a Masters in Aerospace Engineering.

Thanks for all you do!
