How can I prepare for class?

Prepare for the workshops by becoming familiar with the Certification Requirements and the Utah Administrative Code, Rule R317-4/Onsite Wastewater Systems.

Are there prerequisites to attend the classes before being certified?

There are no prerequisites besides that you need to take the classes in order to be certified. For example, you would need to take and pass Level 1 before you can be certified for Level 2.

How long is each class?

• Level 1-2 classes: Usually 3 days long.
• Level 3 classes: 5 days long.
• Renewal classes: Usually 1 day long.

Where are classes usually held?

We hold classes at locations (usually health departments) around the State of Utah. The schedule and locations will depend on their availability.

Can I take all three classes and become certified in all in the same year?

You can be certified for all three in the same year—we encourage you to sign up early to get a spot in each class. We also encourage you to take all of the classes in order, since the classes build upon each other.
