Biography

I am professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Utah State University and the director of the Hyro Composite Modeling Laboratory [http;/hcml.usu.edu]. I also have a joint appointment as Senior Professor of the Hydraulics and Fluid Mechanics program of the Utah Water Research Laboratory at Utah State University.

Teaching Interests

My current academic duties include teaching, research, and advising at both graduate and undergraduate levels. I have taught classes in Hydraulics, Fluid Mechanics, Sedimentation, Open Channel Flow, Closed Conduit Flow, Hydraulic Structures, Modeling Similitude, Hydro-machinery, Freshman Engineering Introduction, Properties of Materials, Dynamics, Statics, Junior Design, and Senior Design

Research Interests

. My funded research includes over-bank flooding, the effects of vegetation on flow resistance, fusegate control structures, model studies of hydraulic structures, sedimentation and erosion studies, pipeline design, flow control and measuring components, basic research in open and closed conduit flow, and Hydro machinery testing.
